A Plus subscription is paid one period at a time, in cryptocurrency, and nothing is kept that could charge you again. There is no card, no account with a payment company, no name and no address — the whole purchase is an invoice you pay or do not pay.

Where to start

Three doors, all to the same checkout:

  • Settings › Subscription — the plan, the price and Get a Plus subscription.
  • The account menu, where the line reads Private.Ki Plus.
  • Any Plus panel that opened because a limit stopped you — Get a Plus subscription is its first button.

Choosing a period

The checkout opens on Choose a period, then how to pay, under the line Paid per period, never charged automatically.

  1. Pick Monthly or Yearly. Monthly is $4.99; yearly is $47.88, and the yearly row carries Save $12.00.
  2. Add a code, if you have one. Voucher code takes it; Apply re-quotes the amount and the discount appears as its own line. Remove takes it off. See Vouchers and your balance.
  3. Read To pay. This is the one figure that matters: the price, minus any voucher, minus any balance you hold.
  4. Choose how to pay — Bitcoin or Monero. Card is greyed Soon; it is not built, and nothing behind it is collecting anything.

If you are extending an existing subscription, the checkout says so: Extending adds a full period to your current end, 10 Oct 2027. No day is lost. Buying early never costs you days.

If a voucher and your balance cover the whole amount, there is nothing to pay and no invoice. The line reads Your voucher and balance cover it — nothing to pay. and the single button is Activate your Plus subscription. Pressing it starts the subscription at once.

Paying

Choosing a coin creates an invoice and opens Pay with Bitcoin or Pay with Monero.

  1. Send the exact amount to the address shown. There is a QR code, the amount in the coin, Copy address (which becomes Copied) and Open in wallet, which hands the payment to a wallet app if you have one. The invoice is priced in US dollars and converted by the payment service when it is created; the coin amount on screen is the amount to send.
  2. Watch Valid for. An invoice lives for 30 minutes, counting down as 12:40. Under it, Waiting for your payment.
  3. The payment is seen. The screen changes to Payment seen — confirming. with an estimate — about 10 minutes for Bitcoin, about 20 for Monero — and the line You can close this. Your Plus subscription starts by itself, and we'll tell you here. That is true: you can close the app, the tab, the whole device.
  4. It confirms. Paid. Your Plus subscription is active.

Then the welcome screen, Welcome to your Plus subscription: what is now on your account, three first steps — Connect your domain, Add an address, Send a big file — each with Start, and Done to close. The three steps stay in Settings › Subscription under First steps until you hide them.

When something goes wrong

What you see What it means What to do
This invoice has expired. The 30 minutes ran out before your payment was seen New invoice — a fresh invoice at the same price. The old one can no longer be paid
Partly paid. Send the rest to the same address. Less arrived than the invoice asked for Send the difference to the same address. It is recognised
You sent too much — The surplus becomes balance on your account and is counted off next time
Your payment confirmed after the invoice expired — It is still honoured. The subscription starts and the payment is recorded as paid late
This payment could not be matched. Nothing was charged. The payment service could not tie the payment to the invoice Nothing was taken from your account. Write to us with the receipt or invoice number: Contact

Only one purchase can be open at a time. Starting a second while the first is unpaid says You already have a payment in progress. — finish it, or let it expire, or open it again from Settings › Subscription.

A test strip is not your system

On our own test systems the payment screen carries a Test payment — no money moves strip with a button that settles the invoice without paying. It cannot appear on a system that takes real payments, because it is drawn only when the payment provider is the fake one.

What we keep about the purchase

An invoice, its amount in US cents, which coin you chose, the payment service's invoice reference, the dates, and a receipt number of the form PK-2026-1A2B3C4D. That is the record. There is no name, no country, no card, nothing a payment form would normally ask for, and no wallet address of yours — the address on the payment screen is ours, and your wallet is never asked about.

Cannot see

  • Any wallet address of yours, your name, your country, or anything a card would have asked for
  • Your mail, chat or files. Buying a subscription touches none of it

Can see

  • Your invoice — the period, the amount in US cents, the coin, the payment service's reference and the receipt number
  • Your balance, and whether you have turned on extending from it

Why only cryptocurrency?

Because a card payment would hand us, and the card network, your name — which is the one thing this product is built not to need. The Card tile exists as an honest Soon; when it is built it will be a real choice with its own consequences, and we will say what they are.

Can I get a refund?

No. There are no refunds, and an unused period simply runs out. Buy monthly first if you are not sure.

Does it renew?

No. Nothing recurring exists, because nothing that could charge you is stored. The one exception is a switch you turn on yourself — Extend by itself from the balance — which pays the next period out of credit you already hold and nothing else, ever. See Vouchers and your balance.

I paid and nothing happened.

Wait out the estimate on the screen first — Monero in particular takes about 20 minutes. If it confirmed on your side and the subscription did not start, write to us with the receipt number or the payment service's invoice reference: Contact.

Can I pay for somebody else's account?

Not through the checkout: the invoice belongs to the account that created it. A voucher is the way to give Plus away — Vouchers and your balance.

Is Lightning supported?

No. Payments are on-chain Bitcoin or Monero.
